After years living and working in Washington, D.C., Natalie Craver and her family made the move back to Greensboro—and it’s a decision that has brought both professional growth and personal joy.
With a career spanning local and state government, Natalie has worked extensively across human services and public housing, building a reputation for thoughtful leadership and a deep commitment to community well-being. That experience led her to a new chapter back home: she was named Deputy Director of Guilford County’s Department of Health and Human Services, a role that aligns with her passion for creating more equitable and thriving communities.
“I’m excited about the opportunity of utilizing the wealth of knowledge and experience I’ve gained in public administration and local government to serve my hometown and to strengthen the department’s vision of creating a healthy, safe, and thriving community for all,” she shared in Guilford County’s press release.
But the return wasn’t just about a new job—it was about rediscovering the life she wanted for her family. Boomerang Greensboro played a key role in that transition, helping Natalie connect with professional opportunities and supporting her as she navigated the move.
Today, Natalie, her husband, and their two children are loving life in the Westerwood neighborhood—just blocks away from some of her childhood friends, whose own kids now play alongside hers. Surrounded by familiar faces and fresh opportunity, the Cravers are writing a new chapter in a city that feels both brand new and deeply familiar.
