Anne & Charlie Pace

The Paces were doing the Charlotte thing — city life, full schedule, young kids. It worked… until it didn’t.

With the children growing fast, Anne and Charlie knew it was time to rethink what “home” meant. They didn’t want just a bigger house or shorter commute — they wanted roots. So they came back to Greensboro.

Now, mornings begin with family routines in Old Irving Park. Evenings might include neighborhood walks or storytime with a book Anne wrote herself. Yes, really.

Anne Pace isn’t just a Boomerang — she’s a children’s book author, educator, and builder of a self-publishing model that makes books more accessible for schools and museums. Alongside her mom, she co-wrote Bingo the Flamingo and Bingo the Flamingo’s Christmas, which have become local favorites. Through partnerships with places like the Greensboro Science Center and local retailers, she’s turning bedtime stories into community connection.

Charlie’s the behind-the-scenes steady hand, navigating family life with humor and heart. Together, they’re raising their kids in a place where family is close, bookstores know your name, and the future feels like something you can shape.
