When soprano and voice professor Michaela Kelly received the call to join the UNCG College of Visual and Performing Arts as Assistant Professor of Voice, it wasn’t just a professional win — it was a homecoming. Alongside her husband, Jacob Warren, Michaela is returning to Greensboro, the city where both of their musical journeys began.

Jacob Warren, a fellow Spartan alum, has built a career in advancement and fundraising at MIT, USC and Pomona College.  

Together, Michaela and Jacob are bringing their creativity, experience and energy back to the city that first nurtured their dreams. As Michaela steps into the classroom and Jacob reconnects with local networks, Greensboro gains two passionate professionals ready to contribute to the city’s creative future.
